Our netball team looked very smart in their new kit when they represented the school at an inter-school competition at Stradbroke. Mrs Walton was delighted by how well they played and their excellent footwork was commented on by those watching.

Victorian Christmas Fayre

The Victorian Christmas Fayre at Mid-Suffolk Light Railway. Victorian costumes were the order of the day.
Literally hundreds of people came to the school's annual Christmas Fayre at the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway yesterday.

There were craft stalls, a very popular Frozen-themed grotto, train rides and lots to eat and drink.

Our thanks to the Middy for their amazing generosity in supporting the school again this year.

Learning Power Superheroes

On Friday morning, children worked in mixed aged groups to design and make a superhero to represent each of our learning powers - perverse, notice details, collaborate, manage distractions, ask good questions and imitate. Using our learning powers helps us be better learners and are part of this year's focus on developing children's learning behaviour.

It was great to see the creativity and collaboration shown in each group. Each superhero was completely different from any other and they were given amazing names like 'The Collaborator', 'Penelope Persevere' and 'Max the Distraction Manager'.

Each group then presented their superhero in a special assembly.
The children learnt a lot about learning powers, but had a great time too. One child said 'It was like we had Golden Time all morning!'.

Our football team took part in an inter-school competition at Stradbroke High School yesterday. They thoroughly enjoyed taking part and showed great sportsmanship, playing against much larger primary schools.

The school was full of Superheroes today as children (and adults) dressed up for Children in Need. A total of £102 was raised. Well done everyone!

Bethan managed to keep silent all day in her sponsored silence!

All the Pudsey biscuits that the children made were sold too!

Remembrance Day

We were so proud of the respect all our children (even our littlest ones) showed at the two minute's silence this morning.

This is the Remembrance Day display we have in school, with contributions from the homework activities of children in Chestnut Tree Class.
