Y3/4 Camp

Y3 and 4 camped out on the school field on Friday night. They had a great time putting up their tents...

.... cooking sausages and making s'mores on a campfire in the Forest School area...

...packing away and taking the tents down again the next morning ....

...and having breakfast together before they went home.

They had a great time and behaved brilliantly, cooperating with their friends and helping each other. For some, this was their first time away overnight without their families.

3D Shapes

Sycamore Class made these 3D shapes in maths using cocktail sticks and mini-marshmallows. They had to work out how many edges (sticks) and vertices (marshmallows) their shape would need and request the right amount of materials!

A Special Visitor

We had a very special visitor to our collective worship this morning; a two week old lamb called Constance. Mr Cattermole from Stoke Ash Baptist Church explained how Constance was very special to him and his family, just like we all are to God.

The children were delighted to meet her and all got to stroke her. She behaved impeccably!

Anglo Saxon Class Museum

Sycamore Class have been learning about the Anglo Saxons. This week, they learnt about weapons and armour and thought Lime Class might want to find out about what they had learnt too. In preparation, they wrote captions to give lots of information about some pictures of artefacts. When the younger children visited, they did a brilliant job telling them all about what they had learnt.

Forest School - in the dark...

Key Stage 2 are loving their after school Forest School club this term! Now the evenings are getting darker earlier, it is dark by the time their session finishes which adds a whole new dimension. Yesterday, they took torches and discovered all sorts of things they wouldn't normally notice, like how snail trails glisten on trees and how the white lichen on trees looks like snow. A game of hide and seek in the dark at the end was great fun!

Unfortunately you can't see much in the photographs (as it was dark!!), but hopefully, they will give you an idea of what it was like, with fairy lights around the main areas and children with their torches.

Girls Football Tournament

We were extremely proud of our girls football team who competed against other schools at Framlingham yesterday. Although they didn't win, they showed clear improvements over the course of the tournament, losing their first two matches, then drawing, then finally winning! They showed fantastic team work and were brimming with enthusiasm when they returned to school.
